Story
In July I am going to spend a grim 24 hours (hopefully less) running, walking, limping and crying my ways through 100km of glorious pain - that's more than two back to back marathons! To be fair it is something I have always said I would do but I wont pretend it's going to be easy.
I'm doing this to raise money for the charity my wife works for, who do loads to help Young Carers in St Helens who are providing a caring role for their parents, siblings or other family members who might have a physical disability, mental illness, life limiting illnesses or substance addiction. The level of care that they provide would usually be expected of an adult and can have an extreme negative impact on their childhood, for example on their physical health, emotional health, education, social life and opportunities. The Centre aims to reduce inappropriate levels of care and give Young Carers back their childhood. To find out more visit their website http://www.sthelensyoungcarers.org/
Anything you would be willing to give would be very much appreciated and I'm sure it would be put to very good use to help some very deserving young people.
