Story
As a young couple looking forward to the joys of family life one day, Nikki and I are very aware that many babies get a very bad start in life. Extreme prematurity and neonatal illness can turn a longed-for time into a terrifying struggle for parents and their precious newborns.
Luckily there are incredible places like the Neonatal Unit at Pinderfields Hospital which can help these families. The unit offers vital intensive care and high-dependency support for the tiniest and sickest babies and helps their parents through traumatic times. Many babies go on to thrive and lead wonderfully happy lives… but this kind of specialist help is expensive.
That’s why I’ve pledged to complete at least one physical challenge every month in 2013. I aim to raise at least £2000 with events like the Aquathon (June), Leeds 10k (July), Total Warrior (August), Spartan Challenge (September) and as many 10k races as I can fit in! I’m happy to take the pain, but I need YOUR help to raise the money!
Please give as much as you can to help buy essential specialist equipment for the Neonatal Unit and overnight beds so worried parents can stay with their sick babies. You can check out my progress and latest events on my Facebook page, but whatever you do, please donate!
