Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
After stupidly taking part in Tough Mudder in May and ending up in hospital with a split knee (you must remember the disgusting photos I posted!), I have now agreed to raise money for my lovely friend Justine Peters AGAIN by running the Brighton Marathon in April 2016 along with my great running buddy Claire Shrimpton. For anyone that knows Justine Claire (Peters) you will not need to read anymore just get donating! However, for anyone that does not know this special friend of mine, she suffers from a very rare brain disorder which has affected her all her life, but until two years and a half years ago she was unaware of her condition. Justine has suffered from swelling in her brain (she likes to boast about her brain being too big for her skull) which has caused pressure forcing her brain downward in her skull. Without going into too much detail, this has resulted in Justine having major brain surgery to allow her brain to grow down out of her skull. This is one brave lady who is still battling to get her day to day activities back on track although some simple things are still a struggle. I have watched this amazing girl cope with this from the beginning and she deserves a medal. She has to undergo regular check ups and will do for the rest of her life. Justine and I would like to raise awareness of this condition as it's profile is quite low due to the rarity of the disorder. Any money raised will make Justine very happy as she would like to help others overcome this as she is proving to do herself. The photo on this page was taken after her operation. The scar is barely visible now as the surgeons done a great job, but you can see for yourselves what she had to go through. So please help us to help this amazing friend....while Claire and I take on 26 miles of running which we are looking forward to as this is also a lifetime ambition for us! Wish us luck....and every penny counts to help.....
