We provide long term sustainable solutions to eliminate poverty by empowering the poor

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I spent 10 weeks volunteering in Malawi helping people to overcome the barriers that keep them poor. The whole time we was told to expect rain.. But it never came..

Since returning to the UK, the rains have arrived. However this time they have not been met with the usual celebration, but with devastation. The torrential rainfall (more than a months worth of rain in 24 hours) over the last month has caused flash floods, causing destruction across large parts of Malawi.

176 confirmed deaths and over 600,000 have been left homeless (this number is rising). Livestock and infrastructure has been ravaged- collapsed bridges and roads have become rivers.

A state of emergency has been declared across 15 districts.

I will be completing a few fundraising activities including spending the night on the street and living below the line (£1 a day) to ensure as much money is raised for this cause!

Please donate anything you can, it will be gratefully received by myself and my friends in Malawi.
