Ever seen Jaws running a 10k? On October 2nd I will be taking part in the Great Scottish Run fully finned and with a full set of smiley jaws in aid of Open Secret in West Lothian. As a service user myself these guys have provided a lifeline for me and are in desperate need of funding so they can continue their invaluable support to others who need it. 

I will be running in memory of my Mother,  Lynne. My absolute hero. Unfortunately she didn't get the help and support I did but she was one the bravest, kindest and selfless woman I've ever known and I'm sure she would be very proud to have this fundraiser as part of her legacy. I'm sure she will be smiling down on the day.

I know the subject of abuse is one that would rather be avoided but unfortunately it does happen and although it can never be erased from someone's life the outcome of that life can be changed. Open Secret in West Lothian thrive in supporting their service users turn the corners that seem virtually impossible and regain the strength and ability to make positive new paths. They have been an absolute silver lining for me.

So please help me raise well needed money for this amazing charity. I have chosen to run in a shark costume as it's a bit 'out there' and a shark for me symbolises power which has significant meaning to this cause. I'll need all the energy I can get sweating it out in this get up! Come watch me on the day or have a good laugh at the photos, either way please give a few quid if you can folks.
