Story
On 31st January 2017 I am climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with a group of friends. Call me crazy, but life doesn’t always throw such amazing opportunities so I thought to seize it while I can!
At 5,895 meters (19,340 feet) above sea level, Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa and the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. The trek is over 7 days, and by day 6 I will have reached the peak where oxygen is thin and it is freezing cold but I’ve read the view is worth it!
You know that I am more than happy to take the dogs for a walk, walk to the pub, or anywhere with a purpose but to climb a mountain... that’s a different story. So I’ll need a little encouragement to help me reach the top and be mentally prepared for the challenge.
As many of you know I am the honorary treasurer for South Woodford Cricket Club. Without donations and support from volunteers the club would not be able to provide sport and social inclusion to the local community. As with most grass grassroots sports in England, local authority funding no longer exists so we look to fundraising to provide financial support and stability.
Please be assured that 100% of your donation goes directly
to the charity – I am funding the trek and all associated costs myself.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
