DENS is a great story of how Hemel Hempstead's Christian churches and others turned words into actions when they literally opened their doors to those in need without prejudging them.

DENS provides for their immediate need for shelter and food and then creates a stepladder back into society through the Rentaid scheme and practical advice/guidance.

DENS was recently appointed to manage the Borough Council's new 40 bed hostel and has just received the Queeen's Award for Service to the Community.

DENS is successful because of the commitment and dedication of its professional team and over 150 unpaid volunteers. and fundraisers. .What a team! I am very proud to have been a member since those early years.

DENS continues to need more funds to support the increasing demands on its incredible organisation.
