Story

Dear Friends & Family

As most of you will be aware My Wife Lin and Mum to Sharon & Stuart is terminally ill with Cancer of the Esophagus and Liver. She is currently receiving the most loving and tender care available anywhere in the world at St Peter & St James Hospice, and prior to this received Palliative care at home courtesy again of St Peter & St James. Over and above this our family have received support from the hospice in numerous ways, too many to go into detail. Needless to say this care does not come cheap and it costs around £7,200 per day to run and it gets very little government help and relies heavily upon fundraising activities and voluntary help to keep this wonderful organisation running. It is therefore Sharon's and my intention to try and raise £7,200 to pay for just one days running of St Peter & St James in honour of a wonderful wife and mother, who with the help and support from St Peter & St James has been fighting this wicked and painful disease courageously. Sharon will be making a Parachute jump from the height of 13,000 feet and I will be shaving my hair to match not only Lin's new look after her Chemo treatment, but also in honour of thousands who suffer the same fate following Chemo treatment, both male and female.

Both Sharon and I wish to thank you all in anticipation of your support, please feel free to pass this link on to anybody you may feel will be sympathetic to the cause.

About the charity

All of our services are free of charge to patients and their loved ones. We rely on our local community for 86% of our funds as we receive less than 14% of our funding from the Government and have to raise more than £2.6 million every year through fundraising. That’s £7,200 every single day.
