Story
After a highly rigorous and competitive selection process, I was chosen to be part of the 10 students who will be flying over to New York in July to undertake an internship.
I wouldn’t have been in this position today if it wasn’t for people like you investing their time and energy into developing me.
After completing my GCSE’s and being in the top 1% for engineering in the country, I have gone on to study Mechanical Engineering at UCL. These achievements along with many others have allowed me to continuously inspire others in the community and let young people understand that we are truly limitless.
Despite all my tenacity and efforts, breaking through into a career in engineering has proved to be one of the biggest challenges I and many others have faced. A month’s internship in New York could be the very solution that changes everything. It will enable me to develop long-lasting connections in the field of engineering and technology and open up the doors for those who come after me.
I intend to grab this experience with both hands but this would be impossible without meeting my target of £850 for the flights, accommodation and living expenses. So with this appeal I ask for your support for this once in a life-time opportunity in New York.
The Amos Bursary has realised my potential and is constantly breaking stereotypes associated with young men from the African and Carribean diaspora. I would like your support to embark on a exceptional journey to develop my confidence and adaptability so I may be better prepared for the obstacles ahead.
As a giver, I believe that there is no such thing as “too little”, whatever you can afford, please donate (openly or anonymously) and I’m sure you’ll be blessed.
God bless and thank you for reading but more importantly thank you for your generosity.
Invest in my foundation, my development and my future!
