We want all young people to have the chance to play and learn through cricket.

Story

The first George The Podge Memorial Cricket Match takes place on Sunday 26th August at Wearmouth Cricket Club, Thompson Road, Sunderland between Barmy Army CC and SMB CC, the teams featuring his friends from his travels supporting both England cricket and Sunderland AFC. The match will continue to raise funds for Chance to Shine and is also an opportunity for friends and family to come together to remember George who would have turned 54 on August 30th.

Further details to follow.

We have chosen Chance to Shine to remember George as we feel it reflects his passion for both cricket and helping young people. Chance to Shine have agreed that they will 'ring fence' our donations and will give the family the choice of which project(s) they donate to. They currently have over twenty schools on their programe in the North East including two in Sunderland running disability programmes.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
