We help break the cycle of poverty to transform the lives of children

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

George is just 7 years old and has been at New Hope Children's Centre in Kenya for about 5 years. He has been through a lot in his short life but was doing well and is generally a happy little boy. During September 2013 he was diagnosed with leukaemia. New Hope Support Group raised funds to pay for his chemotherapy and he stayed well for a year or so. Just before Christmas 2014 he suffered a relapse. George has been taken to St Gertrude's hospital in Nairobi under the care of the country's only haematologist. He has started a new regime but if this beautiful little boy has any chance of getting better we will need to raise money to pay for his treatment. The hospital are helping because George is an orphan, but even with this help, each cycle of treatment is around £2000.

This page has been created for those people who have expressed an interest in helping George. If we raise enough money we will set up a medical fund to cover any unexpected costs for the children and grannies that make up the New Hope community.
