Hi there! Thanks so much for taking the time and clicking on the link to my page...
I've always wanted to run the London Marathon, another classic challenge, and 2016 is my time.
Some of you may or may not be aware, but my driver for running the marathon next year is because my school friend Romy was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) last year. I want to do my bit for Romy, and for all those affected by MS. I have been lucky enough (terrifying) to receive a place with the charity MS-UK. My fundraising starts here, and if you can offer anything at all to support me in my journey and inevitably those affected by MS, that would be superb.
MS-UK is a national charity that supports anyone that is affected by MS. This may be to answer any questions that sufferers, friends or families may have, to provide information on all things related to MS along with the most recent research and news articles. They also have a strong focus on providing choice and promoting independence to help those affected adapt and live life to the full. So essentially, a really important charity whose work is essential, and one that I am super happy to be running for.
I'm learning more about the condition, but I was definitely shocked to hear of Romy's diagnosis at the age of 23. It seems that the public perception of MS is unclear and is commonly associated with older age, however I think that it is so important to raise awareness and gain a clearer understanding of the condition. Romy is really keen on trying to change this current perception and is in the stages of creating a blog so please have an explore if you have a moment: https://damselwithms.wordpress.com
I am also creating a blog of my training journey, go on, take a look: https://runwithgblog.wordpress.com
Big big thank you's in advance for all of your kind donations, no matter how big or small, I appreciate them all xx
