Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So I made it into the London Marathon 2016! WOO HOO!! I am so so excited to be taking part in such an iconic challenge, whilst also spending the next 4 months training hard and raising money for Charterhouse-In-Southwark Charity.
When I first started to try and find a place in the London Marathon 2016, admittedly, I had never heard of Charterhouse-In-Southwark charity beforehand. But having worked in the London Borough of Southwark for the past 4 years, it was great when they came up on my radar, as I got to learn about all the fantastic local community work that they have achieved to date and what their plans are for the coming year.
In 2015 Charterhouse in Southwark awarded a total of £122,000 towards a list of initiatives and organisations to those which they believed would deliver the most benefit to young people in need, in Southwark.
Some of these for example were;
1) Borough Music School for Saturday Instrumental lessons for young people who cant afford to attend
2) Hope UK for training for volunteer drug educators for young people who want to help those who suffer with addiction and Southwark.
3) Playhouse Young Company towards drama activities and performance for young people who can't afford to attend these classes otherwise.
All donations made to this charity have a direct first hand effect on improving the lives of young people in this Borough who otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity to take part in some of these clubs and learn new skills which fundamentally help to give them the best chance to improve their lives in the future.
I really appreciate in advance any sponsorship you are able to make no matter how small. You can feel great knowing that no matter how much you sponsor, your money will directly help to improve a young persons life....what a great way to start 2016!
Thanks
