This Sunday (23rd March), I am running the Hastings Half Marathon,
in memory of my friend Oscar. He took his life at the young age of 28 years in 2011 despite a bright future and loving, supportive family and friends. His vibrant presence is deeply missed and I am running this event to raise awareness of suicide in the young.
I have chosen a half marathon in Hastings as long distance running is a real challenge (certainly
not one of my strengths (!)) and Oscar loved to run, as well as being by the sea and south coast. With the first half of the course being
uphill, the Hastings course is also renowned as one of the toughest in
Europe.
All
donations and support on the day would be greatly appreciated,
with all funds raised going to Grassroots, a Brighton based charity
campaigning for greater awareness of this issue and providing support
networks for those affected.
Many thanks for all your support,
Georgie X
