Thanks for visiting Gesmay's and Danielle's page. With the help of True Volunteer Foundation we are raising funds to create an educational project for girls and young women in the Seychelles. Our ultimate aim is to set up a free community programme for girls and women from disadvantaged backgrounds. The programme will offer a variety of classes and development projects to offer support in learning new skills and tools to help themselves and their community.

Why is this project needed?

Education coupled with community support is the best tool to develop young people into their highest potential and ultimately create a better and more equitable society. 

Many gender-based issues such as domestic violence, gender stereotyping amongst others have been prevalent in the Seychelles. This community education project would aim to give disadvantaged girls and young women development opportunities they might not otherwise have access to. 

Why are we doing this project?

On a personal level, the interest in the Seychelles as a location for this project stems from our roots - Gesmay, originally hails from the Seychelles and Danielle has Seychellois ancestry. We are both passionate advocates of the sustainable empowerment of women and share a strong pull to return to our roots to establish a community project around this issue.
