Story
Dear All,
I am looking to raise as much as possible for the Children’s Hunger Relief Fund, UK (CHRF-UK). This is a newly established charity (registration no: 1138753) which was founded by a group of volunteers including my Aunt who has worked tirelessly to raise funds and garner support.
The aim of the charity is to provide relief to the displaced communities in Northern and Eastern Sri Lanka. Despite the three decade civil war in North and East Sri Lanka ending in May 2009, the devastation and destruction it caused is still bitterly felt.
My son recently celebrated his 2nd birthday and I realised how lucky most children in this country are. They have access to clean water, clothing and a meal whenever they are hungry. We take many things for granted such as access to hospitals and schools.
CHRF-UK’s objectives include the relief of hunger, advancement of education and improved sanitation facilities for the orphans and poor children in Northern and Eastern Sri Lanka. By providing these facilities they aim to meet the beneficiaries’ needs so that they can have a stable foundation in which to grow up in and become fully functional members of their community in Sri Lanka.
