Hello, and thanks for visiting my Ben Nevis page.

Every few years I try to do a bit of good by doing something quite difficult.

This year I decided to climb the UK's highest peak at the least sensible time of year.

In early March, armed with crampons and an ice axe, I managed to haul myself and a 10kg rucksack through driving snow and glacial winds to the summit of Ben Nevis.

There are many good charities in the world, but I chose to support Home-Start because the importance of the work it does is in direct proportion to its financial endangered-ness.

Home-Start rescues families from the destabilizing effects of unforeseen crises. It is the reason that the bad things that befall British families don't become catastrophes.
