Event: SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon 2016, on 30 October 2016
We provide cancer awareness and information to men and women of all ages free of charge

Story

Gillian has always wanted to run a marathon. It seemed fitting that we would go back to Ireland and try to complete the Dublin Marathon in memory of George and all those who have and are coping with the scourge of cancer.

The hard miles and the long runs have provided lots of time for reflection and have helped us cope with the very sudden passing of George earlier this year.

We've taken inspiration from the Marie Keating Foundation and our sister in law Liz, who is doing amazing work to raise awareness about early detection of cancer.

The Foundation provides men, women & their families with vital information which could help them to prevent cancer or detect it at its earliest stages. The aim is to "enlighten not frighten".
