On 25 April 2015, the MAPPOM team will be taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peak Challenge to raise money for Hope Against Cancer. We’re doing this in memory of our dear colleague and friend, Richard, who passed away last year after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer leaving his wife, two little boys and his family and friends behind. Richard’s sister Nic and her fiancée are joining us in our challenge.
Richard was a remarkable man who inspired us with his kindness and incredibly positive outlook on life which continued even when he was faced with the most devastating of circumstances. Whilst poorly he really wanted to help others through participating in Hope Against Cancer’s research but sadly he didn’t get to do so. So we’ve decided to take ourselves out of our comfort zones and (instead of doing the usual MAPPOM charity cake stall) we are going to walk the 3 Peaks (in less than 12 hours- eeek!) and raise money for Hope Against Cancer on Richard’s behalf! The team are currently in training which is proving to be quite a challenge in itself!
Thank you so much for reading this and donating. It really will help us to climb those peaks and much more importantly it will help others who are diagnosed with cancer.
We miss you Richard but we'll be sure to do you proud!
