Each year I have done the Manchester 10k run, but decided (after being convinced by Nina that Andy and I could do it!) that should upgrade and do the Manchester Half Marathon, and give myself an extra push in training and aiming for something more challenging!

I have decided to run for Genesis Care NW, as they are a small local charity based in Chorley. Genesis Care NW totally believe in not saying people suffer with dementia, but that it's something that you learn to live with, they do everything they can to keep people independent for as long as possible. They provide activities which maintain older people's skills and enable them to acquire new ones to remain independent in their own homes. Carers are supported as well, it provides them respite whilst the person they care for is at the centre.

At the moment Genesis Care NW meet in a Methodist Church hall, but their dream is to buy a building that has been up for sale for a while to provide their own base, and let people stay there in a hotel setting. This would also give respite to their carers.

Any donation you are able to give will help Genesis Care NW build their dream, and keep services going as they get no funding from councils etc.
