MARATHON RUNNING FOR THE UROSTOMY ASSOCIATION
In January 2012 I embarked on a fitness and diet campaign to lose weight. I weighed myself and was shocked that I was nearly 17 stone! My Mum has been my inspiration! ;-)
Over the last year I have been calorie counting using the myfitnesspal app on my iphone and have been swimming, running and going to the gym nearly everyday of the week. I now weigh 11 and half stone and love exercise. I believe that I am now fit for life! Exercise and my diet makes me a more confident, active and happy person now. Yes, I believe that I have hit a mid life crisis and have become a MAMIL (Middle Age Man in Lycra)
I completed the Greater Manchester Marathon on 28th April 2013 in 4 hours 2 minutes and 24 seconds ;-) Details of this Marathon can be seen here:
The day after the Greater Manchester Marathon, with very sore feet, I thought what can be my next challenge, and thought great the Virgin London Ballot is open on 29th April 2013. So I have entered this and will discover if I am able to run this in October 2013.
Having a Marathon Addiction I couldn't wait until next 2014 to beat my first marathon time. I want a sub 4 hour marathon time, perhaps 3 hours 45 mins. Thats running at a pace of 8.5 minutes per mile. Therefore I have now booked the Chester Marathon, to be held on 6 th October 2013. ;-) Details of this Marathon can be seen here:

I have created this page to raise money for the Urostomy Association because my mother, Ursula Naish has had her bladder removed and has had a urinary diversion (a Urostomy Bag on her side). She has had this for many years and although she has had many challenges as a result of this, she has stayed positive and I am very proud of her.
She has shown great dedication to this charity and continues to do great work as the Kent Branch Urostomy Association Secretary. She provides information of urinary diversions personally to all that call upon her and organizes visits and fundraising for the association. I believe that she is a great Ambassador for the Charity – Good Job Mum!
