Story

In October of this year I’m planning to run the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 5th October and then the Birmingham Half Marathon on Sunday 19th October in memory of my beautiful twin girls Darcy and Eve. This is to hopefully also raise a bit of money for the Lily Mae Foundation.

Ok now the X-Factor style background story (please have a tissue ready!)....
September 18th 2013, our lives changed forever. Becky was 22 weeks pregnant with twins, life was good, fantastic even! Unfortunately for unknown reasons she went into an early labour that day and our twin girls were born Darcy & Eve Sherrington. They were sadly taken away from us to be with Mr Moon as my nephew says! - they were beautiful just like their dad!!! (and mum!)

Life has been a pretty dark place since however you have to find a way to carry on. So I thought I best do some fundraising finally!

I will be raising money for the Lily Mae Foundation http://lilymaefoundation.org/ they are a fantastic local charity who we have come in contact with since Darcy & Eve.

What do they do, well a host of things (please take a moment to visit their website). They provide memory boxes to some local hospitals (Warwick included) for when events like this happen. Although it may not sound much, they provide a small bit of comfort knowing you have some footprint and handprints in clay to keep, pictures, teddies which stayed with the girls and much more.

Importantly, unlike some bigger charities, I can ask that all the money I raise is put towards providing memory boxes for the supported hospitals. So you can rest assured the money will be going to good use.

Please can you dig deep, I know it’s tough and it seems like people are always asking for sponsorship for things so even 50p will do!

And yes this will be quite a tough challenge for me, although relatively fit I hate running with a passion!!!! I’m Quite happy just chasing a bag of wind around a football pitch instead!

Thanks for reading and for your support
