Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and hopefully donating.
I'm sure some of you visiting this page are aware of my personal motivations to complete the UK Ironman, having vowed not to take it on again. But for those who aren't see below;
Cancer is known as the disease that touches everyone, however until recently I've been lucky enough to avoid first hand experience with the disease. Having returned to live in the UK last August, as some of you may know, the honeymoon of moving home was short lived when in September my mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
A swift diagnoses and entry onto the NHS system seemed almost to quick to be true. This in turn helped with the strong mentality adopted, by my mum and the family, to beat the disease.
Not only has the service, care and support to date been fantastic. But further support from the unit such as the availability of Post Op Bra's, advise on Wigs and even advise on changes in diet. These additional things typically not covered under the NHS keep women coming in and out of these units in good spirits and (as my mum put's it) feeling like women.
