We have chosen to put a team together to achieve the British 10km run in London to raise money for the Macular Society who help to support people with Macular degeneration. Macular conditions affects over 600.000 people in the UK and at present are incurable. Macular conditions are often associated with the elderly in the forms of Wet and Dry Macular Degeneration, however juvenile conditions affect children and young adults just as much.

People with Macular conditions experience central vision loss often resulting in inability to read, write, drive and recognise faces as the Macular is responsible for providing the fine detail to what we see. People diagnosed with any one of the condition often feel anxiety as a result of the uncertainty of the condition and what the future might literally look like for them. The Macular Society support research, counselling services and resource provision to support individuals and their family cope with sight loss.
