Story
Hi everyone,
Some of you will know that Sehrish and I returned from Nepal just a week before the quake struck and we can tell you first hand that we have not met a more friendly, genuine and caring people in all our travels. Nobody could ever deserve for something like this to happen to them but in truth, the Nepalese stand out as a people who just cannot do enough for their fellow human being. It is so incredibly sad for us to picture the people we got to know and the places we fell in love with while we were there, all either devastated or reeling from the disaster and devastation around them.
Part 1 of this fundraising effort will be a Milk and Cookies stall at the Little Chalfont Village Day on Saturday 6th June. If you are in the area we would really appreciate your support as we have never done this before and are more than a little nervous! More activities to follow and we welcome your suggestions.
The show is held on the Village Green at postcode HP7 9PH and the stall will be open from 11:30am to around 3pm. If you cannot make it please try and spread the word to people you know in the area, every little bit really does make a difference to those whose homes and societies have crumbled around them.
Part 2 will be Sehrish running her first 5km at the Colour Run the following day, raising money for the same cause – you can sponsor her on the same Justgiving page and please leave a message of support as she aims to finish in under 25 minutes – not an easy task by any measure!
100% of the proceeds from all our efforts will be donated in full to the Health Exchange Nepal (UK), one of the very few charities around that is run entirely by volunteers and therefore incurs zero management expenses.
All the very best,
Hamza and Sehrish
