Story
Hello all!
As some of you may know, I am doing a trek in the Rockies in Canada in June to raise
money for the Cancer Fund for Children.
The cancer fund for children is a wonderful charity that
provides support in many different ways for children, teenagers, young adults
and their families affected by cancer. Every week in Northern Ireland, another
three children, teenagers or young adults are diagnosed with cancer. To help
those diagnosed and the impact that this has on their whole families, the
charity offers free therapeutic short breaks at their new Daisy Lodge facility
and Pine and Birch Cottages to families throughout Ireland, and support both
during and after treatment and sadly in some cases, bereavement.
As some of you may know, my nephew was diagnosed with this dreadful
disease back in December 2011. Unfortunately, Teddy lost his battle in
September 2012 and was unable to fully avail of the
wonderful support and facilities available. However I do hope that the funds I
raise go some way to help another young person.
In order to help reach my target and building upon my
marathon success in 2013(!), I am to participate in a Tough Mudder on 30 April.
Thankfully, I will have some support on the day to haul me over the wall and whatever other delights there may be in store.
I fully appreciate that so many people are fundraising for many
different charities and causes. Usually, I am the first person to ignore
these messages which I am highly regretting. However, I would be so
grateful if you could please donate anything that you have. The money is going to
a wonderful causes that will help the Cancer Fund for Children continue in their much
needed role.
Thanks so much!
Harrison
