Story
As a result of decades of wars, massacres, sectarian killings and for over two years the presence of the terrorist organisation Daesh/ISIS in Iraq, it is inevitable that Iraqi children that have suffered immensely. Many have been orphaned. They are deprived of their childhood and suffer great psychological trauma as well as having their physiological growth impacted.
Recognising this growing problem, the Iraqi Association, in consultation with non-governmental organisations, doctors and volunteers on the ground in Iraq, launched an initiative to provide emergency support and a development programme to help Iraqi children.
In Baghdad, funds raised for the IraqChild Project go to supporting a children’s education centre as well as a volunteer-led mobile health clinic, with a doctor and nurses providing dental treatment and emergency healthcare to children and their parents. Please help to allow the project to continue its vital work.
This will be my first ever marathon and I want to give back to the community I came from, to help the most venerable people in the country.
I was given the chance to attain a full education and start my own business and I want less fortunate kids to get the same chance, Iraq is not an easy country to live and it even harder if you don't have the support of family. Every Pound raised will go directly to the orphans in Iraq, maybe with your support they may be able to reach their goals.
