Story
Every summer Hatfield send out 8 enthusiastic volunteers to Nepal. The volunteers are split across two schools, one in the capital of Kathmandu and the other in rural Dang, where they will spend the summer teaching at the school. For the duration of the trip the volunteers will live with the pupils who they will be teaching and will be fully absorbed into the Nepali way of life. The summer is the highlight of the school year for the Nepalese children when they can learn about a different culture and interact with people from a different country.
Nepal is one of the world's poorest countries and it is just emerging from its Maoist past. Many of the people never have a chance to leave the country and live off the tiniest fraction of the average salary in the UK. As well as improving the children's English, the volunteers will be enriching the children's lives in so many other ways.
Thank you for taking the time to visit the Hatfield Nepal JustGiving page. However small a donation may seem, it will make a world of difference in Nepal where a 40 minute taxi ride for 5 costs £3 and many locals have never caught a taxi because it is too expensive. We really appreciate your generosity, it really is such a worthwhile cause.
