I am a governor of Doncaster & Bassetlaw Hospitals, elected by the people of Bassetlaw. I visit Ward A4 at Bassetlaw Hospital regularly as part of a programme of ward visits by governors to talk to patients about their care and see at first-hand the care that patients are getting. Ward A4 cares for mainly elderly patients, who need that bit of extra help and rehabilitation to return home or go on to another residential setting. I've been really impressed by the care staff offer and would like to raise funds to buy new equipment - or whatever's needed to enhance patient care. After all, we're all getting older and may need such care ourselves in time!

I start the walk on Tuesday 12 July and aim to complete it by 22 July, walking with my sister and niece.
