Story

Hello Heath Mount Children, Parents, Families, Friends and Supporting Dalit Children Supporters!

Thank you for visiting our page and choosing to sponsor one of our Heath Mount children to achieve their target of running a marathon to raise money to build a school for Dalit children in Pannur, India.

In the photo opposite you can see the barren land that has been bought to build a new school for Dalit children aged 3-13. At present the Dalit children in the surrounding villages have no access to education, let alone one that includes learning English, something that is generally the preserve of the wealthy or higher caste children.

We are taking on the enormous challenge of raising enough money to facilitate the building of this school, and the Heath Mount Children's Marathon is our first fund-raising venture. We hope to raise over £30,000 over the next two years or so - please sponsor your participant generously to help us achieve our first step towards this!

Please remember to mention the name of the individual to whom you are dedicating your donation so that they can see the effect of their efforts as the total goes up.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
