On Sunday 11th September 2016 I will be runnIng in The Great North Run and have chosen to raise money for the Sue Lambert Trust. I would be so very grateful for your support for this local based charity.

The Sue Lambert Trust is a Norfolk based charity providing support for survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence. They are the only local charity offering free of charge support for survivors of sexual violence and have been operating for over 20 years.

Experiencing rape, sexual assault or violence is extremely traumatic.  Whether a recent assault or past abuse, many people find it difficult to cope.  The Sue Lambert Trust is here to help.

There are around 900 reports to police of recent rape, sexual assault or childhood abuse in the county each year and it is recognised that there is significant underreporting of such crimes.  Many of the clients they see have not reported to any other agency, and are therefore not included in the police figures. There is a great need for the services that the Sue Lambert Trust provide.

I have been attending The Sue Lambert Trust for one to one counselling sessions for the past 8 months, they are such amazing people and are helping me come to terms with the abuse I suffered. I feel so very lucky to have found these people and they are helping me make changes to my life and find the person I really am. I cannot praise The Sue Lambert Trust enough and this is why I want to raise as much money as I can so many more people like myself can receive the counselling help they deserve. There is currently over a years wait for counselling such is the demand for this specialised service so any money I raise will be extremely valuable to the Trust in helping other clients like myself.
