Story

Hello there,

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Sunday 15th May 2016, I'm running the Chester Half Marathon and hoping to raise as much money as I can in aid of Sheffield Mencap and Gateway.

Sheffield Mencap and Gateway is about improving the opportunities for people with learning disabilities, and their families across the city. This might be through building confidence, learning new skills, developing friendships, overcoming challenges, as well as understanding changes to legislation that impact on the support available to people and their carers.

In an nutshell, the services Sheffield Mencap and Gateway provided help people to reach their full potential and live the life they choose.  These are values close to my heart and I want to do what I can to make sure that this fantastic work continues.

I'm currently in the process of becoming a Trustee for this  very important charity, and so to mark that event, this is my first fundraising challenge.

Anything you can donate, big or small is greatly appreciated.  Wish me luck! :)

Best Wishes

Helen
