Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I have decided to have a go at running 10km again, in memory of Max Bentley, whose fight against cancer was so brave and his death so untimely and unfair. Max was born just weeks before my own daughter, Sufia, now 18, and shortly after I had met Julie , his mum and Tessa his big sister. We had some brilliant times together and Max was always such a sunny, happy lad - positive and kind - truly one in a million. My children always referred to him as "our favourite ginger". My heart goes out to Julie , Tessa and James, and all of Max's family - losing a loved one is hard enough . The thought of losing a child is unbearable. I can only imagine the pain... and so Max will be laughing ...as I puff and pant on 16th October for an hour or so. This will be nothing much compared to the pain Max would have endured over the months of his illness and treatment.
Most of us , at some time in our lives, will be touched by cancer, either directly or via a loved one: My mother, Max, Tara's dad, friends, teachers.... by sponsoring my run, you will help contribute to further research and support familes and young people, who are so cruelly affected by this disease.
