Story

Hello there! Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. It is great to welcome you on board and thanks for being part of my challenge helping me to achieve my dreams and goals over the next four months.

As you may know I am an avid explorer, traveller and challenge seeker. I have a passion to help those from disadvantaged backgrounds in my spare time, regularly fundraising and volunteering for various charities. Time and resources permitting I enjoy first-hand experience all over the world, South America to Africa to Europe, helping and engaging with locals from all walks of life.

So I am putting myself to the test to park the parties, to train, to commit and to go from 0 to 26.2 miles in four months' time and run the LONDON MARATHON.

I am doing this for the Xavier Project and in memory of my Father, Peter Clarke.

The Xavier Project provides education. Everyone has the right to equal opportunities and protection wherever they live and whatever their background. Globally this right is denied to refugees and the Xavier project uses education to change this. Education provides protection and it is this tool which best helps refugees to access equal opportunities. At Xavier Project they use pioneering education as the means to achieve their vision supported by their core value of solidarity.

There are two departments with the Xavier Project.

The Education Department: this aims to increase access to relevant and good formal education delivered in a safe environment for refugee children.

The 'Tamuka' Department: this aims to make vocational and life-long learning available to all refugees even in emergency situations, primarily through the use of ICT.

I helped out with Xavier in August in 2015 and from first-hand experience the benefits are extensive providing lifelong skills and experience.

Please feel free to visit http://www.xavierproject.org/about/ for more information.

It is going to be tough, probably one of the toughest feats I have put myself through. But, I am very excited to do this, to raise money for education in honour of refugees. And, in memory of my true inspiration in life, my father Peter Clarke, the person who made me who I am today.

So, please, if you feel like helping click the bottom and I will see you the other side of the finishing line.

Ciao ciao for now!
