We fund grass-roots initiatives to lift vulnerable Malagasy out of poverty.

Story

We know we are lucky to have good food and warm dry homes. That's why we want to help provide food, shelter and hope to the Malagasy families who have lost their homes and crops due to Cyclone Chedza. We are doing a litter pick on the canal and estuary because we want to do something that will help our local community at the same time as raising money for Malagasy families.

Hardly anyone in the UK has heard of Cyclone Chedza but it has affected more than 160,000 people since it hit Madagascar in January this year. Many of their homes have been flooded or washed away leaving them with no food, shelter or safe drinking water.  To make things worse, rice crops, which most families rely on for food, have been ruined by the flood waters.

Working through their local partners, Money for Madagascar can quickly respond to the needs of Malagasy communities in times of emergency.

A child can be provided a nutritious hot meal for as little as 5 pence per day!
