Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As the family group "Buxton & Glossop Friends Fighting MS" we have currently raised £43,500 which is sent via the MS Society to the Cambridge Institute for research in myelin repair
In 2015 a decision was made to alter our name to
"High Peak Fighting MS"
and it is under this banner that we continue to raise funds.
Many events have helped this, no less than the incredible feat by Catherine of raising £10,000 of this amount (and continuing) purely by knitting scarves!!
In 2013, Philip & Catherine (my parents) embarked on the mammoth task of driving from Lands End to John O' Groats in their vintage Morris Minor, covering the 2012 miles in 12 days and raising nearly £10,000 in the process!
Their latest plan is to travel the perimeter of mainland Britain in the same car, a trip which this time will cover more than 3000 miles in a 3 week window!

Up beyond £50,000 is most definitely a target for our total!
The research in question had a major breakthrough which
received international acclaim and was prevalent in all
media channels in the UK. Professor Robin Franklin and his
team at the Cambridge University Centre for ‘Myelin repair’
have been working on a project that protects nerve fibres
from damage. Not only that, following on from a break-
through in 2010 they have developed and are trialing a
drug that will repair and reverse damage to Myelin (a sheath
protecting nerve fibres).
Philip and Catherine’s efforts have been personally acknowl-
edged by Professor Franklin who wrote to them thanking
them for their continued fundraising
