Story
Rob died on May 24 2016 at the age of 60 from A1AD complications following major heart surgery. This little known genetic condition is thought to affect one in every 3-4,000 people in the UK (for comparison cystic fibrosis affects about 1:2,500) but is probably under diagnosed. Symptoms can include liver disease and more commonly lung disease including emphysema. Life expectancy for those with the zz form of the disease (like Rob and his brother Martin) is about 52. We hope that future generations of our family will be healthy; but please help to provide support for others many of whom are much less fortunate.
