Story
Catching Lives are an independent charity that support those who are rough sleeping and vulnerably housed in East Kent. Their work not only provides support through the provision of basic facilities (food, laundry and showers), but also offers longer term solutions through the provision of tailored support and referral onto other services with the aim of breaking the cycle of rough sleeping and insecure housing.
For four years I worked for Catching Lives at the Canterbury Open Centre and this experience provided me with a much needed focus, career path and skills. It's time to give something back.
On the 24th July I will start to walk from Canterbury Cathedral to Winchester Cathedral along the historic pilgrims way. I will aim to walk a minimum of 26.2 miles each day (that's a marathon...). The route is 140 miles in total and I aim to complete this within 6 days, arriving back in Canterbury on 29th July.
The walk is not only a fundraising effort for Catching Lives, but a walk in memory of my Grandfather Alan Forbes Gower and in tribute to his christian faith.
So folks, it's time to dig deep, put those hands in your pockets and donate.
