Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page in memory of my big brother, Guy Bishop. Guy was diagnosed in 2013 with grade 4 brain cancer (Glioblastoma
Multiforme) and very sadly passed away just eight months after at the age
of 22.
Last year, myself and my brilliant team raised money for Clic Sargent, children's cancer charity in a bid to thank them for the help and support they provided Guy and our family with throughout his time of need. The incredible amount we raised and the generosity from everyone will never fail to overwhelm me; myself and my family are so grateful! So thank you ever so much to those who contributed to last years fundraising.
I will be continuously fundraising throughout the year for both Clic Sargent and Headcase with all offline donations being split equally between both charities. I will be taking part in various events in which I will keep updating you on this page and my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/hollysfundraisingmission
This page has been set up for the Headcase charity which funds professor Geoff Pilkington and his team at Portsmouth University who's goal is to firstly understand the mechanism of GBMs and then ultimately, find a cure. After watching my Brother go from a bright, funny and intelligent man to someone who doesn't have the ability to communicate any more is something that no sister, mother, father or any relative should have to watch and certainly not something that anyone should have to go through. This is why I am now passionate about raising money to find a cure for this horrible condition in memory of my big brother.
Guy studied Land Management at Harper Adams University and was halfway through his Placement year when he was diagnosed. He touched the heart of so many with his huge smile, great sense of humour and gentlemanly manner. He had a passion for all things technical and spent many hours in the SU organising lighting and sound for the student nights and balls. Guy would make it his task to put on the best show for everyone to enjoy. He had his PADI certification for scuba diving, played guitar to a standard I could only dream of getting to and he was a maths genius and would go out his way to outsmart anyone he deemed necessary. This is why I will always be so proud to call Guy my big brother.
It would mean such a lot to help a charity who's job is to ultimately find a cure for what took my brothers life so I would be so grateful for any donations. Every penny counts!
Life's too Short, 'Crack on!'
Thank you,
Holly xxx
