Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm asking for support through prayer and fundraising to take me through my time on the Rock UK Instructor Training Programme. We are asked to raise £3000 for Rock UK and the money we raise goes towards our food, accommodation, training, bringing in people to speak to us in our classroom days and going on trips out in Scotland and the Lake District. 

There are fifteen of us on the training programme, we live on site in log cabins with five of us in each, and cook and eat together each night. During the week, we spend three days training outside in activities like kayaking, canoeing, climbing and biking. We then have two days in the classroom learning about discipleship, worship and how to work with and relate to young people. There are also optional trips every Saturday for us to get a taste of things like caving, paddling rivers and navigation.

While the fundraising is important to help replace the money Rock UK spends on us, the most important thing I am looking for is your support through prayer. I would love to know that I have a group of people all around the country who are behind me and praying for me to succeed and thrive in this venture. If you can give £5 or £10 a month that would be amazing, but what I'm really asking for is your help.

Update: 30/08/2016

I have now worked through the summer as a full time instructor with the other 6 of the trainees that stayed at Whithaugh Park centre, and we are moving into the off-season. This means slightly shorter working days, fewer groups booking sessions and more training for us. 

We will be climbing, biking, hillwalking and paddling, depending on which qualifications we are looking to gain. I'm hoping to get 3* kayak, which is a proficiency award, as I achieved 3* canoe this Spring, and we have a kayaking expedition next January that you must have the qualification to go on. I'm also looking to complete the training course for the Single Pitch Award in climbing, which, once I have passed assessment, will allow me to take novices out climbing by myself, and is one of the qualifications I am most excited about.
