Honda UK associates and staff are throwing on their walking boots and challenging themselves to raise over £15,000 for two dedicated charities. 20 climbers from all over the Honda UK business and dealer network will be embarking on an expedition climbing Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (England) and Snowden (Wales) in under 24hrs. This ambitious feat will see the volunteers fight the elements to raise money for two exceptional charities; Parkinson’s disease UK and Wooden Spoon. With 16 weeks of training under their belt, volunteers will face a physical and mental challenge, testing the climber’s fitness and stamina when the face Britain’s 3 highest peaks. This challenge is not for the faint hearted.

Wooden Spoon is a rugby charity for children inspired by rugby roots providing sports equipment, sports activities, sensory rooms, specialist playgrounds and medical care. All these resources offer a safe and fun environment for children living with disadvantages and disabilities across the UK and Ireland from all different backgrounds. Since the founding of the charity it has grown to funding 70 projects each year and has distributed in excess of £24 million contributing to 1 million young people’s lives. The charity launches campaigns as well to engage people in joining the sports and raise money for causes such as the wheelchair rugby club in the UK and Ireland. With The Governments statistics of 770,000 children suffering from disabilities, it is clear to see Wooden Spoon is a well worth cause to be raising money for by our climbers.
Details on the challenge
The challenge runs from the 12th-13th October, which includes travelling between the peaks during the climb as well as travelling to the start line and back from the finish. We are aiming to raise £15,000 for two chosen charities - £7500 each.
