What we hope to achieve
In September this year, me and my brothers are hoping to raise £3,600 each to take on the 11 day trek to the Kilimanjaro Summit. This means a total of £14,400 is required to make this happen not only for Naomi House, but in Jayden's memory. This would be an incredible achievement and mean the world to our family, allowing us to conquer something massive for our little hero and bring us closer to Jayden, in the stars above us.

I will be taking one of Jayden's favorite SPIDERMAN cuddly toys on the journey, resembling Jayden himself taking on the journey with us.

Jayden Story
In August 2013, our gorgeous son Jayden, was diagnosed with a condition, which no parent ever expects, especially at five years of age. Known as a Grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme brain tumour. At the time he was four yrs old. The consultants broke the news to my wife and I, after completing a biopsy and MRI Scan, confirming the condition. We discovered the mass in Jayden’s brain, two days earlier, when Jayden fell down from a spinning roundabout at a local children’s play ground.

As parents we could not believe our baby boy had such a severe condition. We queried the doctors if they were certain of what they discovered. In our heads, this was not happening. Questions were running through our heads, questioning how this happened? How come this was happening? So I ask the fearful question… was his condition terminal? When they said yes, we both collapsed. For a long time we could not believe this was happening, however we always stated from the beginning that while we are in front of Jayden, we would keep going as normal, and above all prepare the time he have left with our son, to be the most enjoyable, making un-forgettable memories as a family.

After a few weeks at Basingstoke Hospital, our wish was granted of being home together for Christmas. Unfortunately, very early Christmas Day 2014, Jayden passed away peacefully, warm in his bed, and in the safest place he knew.

FUNDRAISING
With the backing of Naomi House, SpiderDad and the Hope For Jayden family have set up a fundraising campaign in honour of our son Jayden. We're calling it #HopeFromJayden. Our vision is to raise as much money as possibly for the charity throughout 2015, encouraging people around the world to continue Jayden's Legacy of bravery and courage, and adopting the same positive mindset in fundraising.

Jayden finally came home on Christmas Eve and was able to spend his final hours with his family, after passing away warm in his bed, in the safest place he knew. On the anniversary of Jayden coming home, which will be 24th December 2015, we hope to announce the final total the Hope From Jayden campaign has raised in the little warrior's honour.

Naomi House and Jacksplace provides amazing support to children and young adults with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. But also continued family support to help daily life, as well as after care support with coming to terms with a bereavement. Every patient is dedicated a qualified carer to relieve parents of every day pressures, giving them some time off from the daily demands of acting as a carer as well as a parent.

For us, this charity has developed a special place within our family, including our extended family. We have come to understand the importance of making other families aware of the charity, as we too never knew the facility was available until Southampton General Children's Hospital put us in touch. 

Jayden's story of bravery and courage, has touched so many people worldwide, and we want to raise awareness and money in his Honour.
