Story
Many of you will know that I was a full time carer for my father for three years until his death from Amyloidosis.
During that time I met many other people who were carers and found them to be some of the most inspiring, dedicated and selfless people you could hope to know. Many of them were carers for a much longer period than me and had to contend with very much more difficult situations than I did. They always put others' needs in front of their own and frequently placed their own dreams and aspirations on hold (at best). Their immense contribution to our society is often forgotten and almost always undervalued. Their good humour, resilience and sense of humanity will always make me feel very humble.
I've run many races but never previously for a charity - until now. I strongly believe in the work of the Worcestershire Association of Carers and am volunteering to help them outside of this race. Any contribution, however small, will be very gratefully received.
Thank you for reading my story.
