Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This September, I am riding a mountain bike 250km off road in 5 days for The European Nature Trust's Transylvanian Bike Ride in aid of the ‘Regatul Salbatic’ or ‘Wild Kingdom’ initiative. This programme provides tens of thousands of children each year with a unique and exciting environmental education – a critical component of global conservation to help save one of the last and largest remaining parts of the immense primeval forest that once stretched across Europe.

Last year, our team of riders raised enough money to purchase a second mobile education unit. It is now on the road and has almost doubled the amount of children reached every year. We now need to develop the programme further. 100% of all money raised from the ride this year will go towards running and operating the new bus, as well as investment into the continuation of our programmes and the development of a long- running curriculum for environmental education. As we expand our partner-base, this is a critical step towards educating the next generation about the importance of our natural resources and conservation.
