We are Fenella, Jethro, Merlin, Thaddeus and Keziah, a family of animal lovers based in Suffolk, and have decided to take some of our rescued animals, Ruby pony and dogs Gus, Duncan Disorderly and Gareth for a walk. A long walk. We will be leaving from Birdbrook in Essex (where Ruby the rescued pony lives) on 2nd August 2016 and walking the hundred miles or so to the Humanimal Trust in Surrey, and back. This will take us just over 2 weeks. We will mostly be camping on wide verges, with Ruby taking our gear (and her food!) on her cart.
I, that is Fenella, have done several long distance charity and protest walks over the years, including a 700 mile walk accompianied by a horse and cart inspired by the Live Aid concert and called Band Waggon Aid. This one is my children's first such undertaking, so I have made it nice and short! Ruby has not done anything like this either, and I don't think she quite believed me when I told her, but I'm sure she will enjoy grazing 'the long acre'.
As a family we have been inspired by listening to Noel Fitzpatrick talk about his reasons for setting up The Humanimal Trust. We have always believed in the equality that should exist between all living creatures, and that we should respect their needs as much as we expect them to make way for ours. We should love our planet, all life that is on it, and work together to make it a better place for all,
So please support us as we walk,
Lots of love, pass it on,
Fenella xx
