Story
Hi, thanks for visiting my page.
As most of you know, i sadly lost my 7 year old nephew in October 15. In his memory i will be undertaking a series of adventures this year. This will all culminate in an epic adventure in October 16.
Friends and family will hopefully be joining me on some of these!
Go team "Cam's Climbers!"
I will be:
- Undertaking a series of hikes covering most of the beautiful countryside of Surrey and surrounding areas. Examples include, Leith Hill, Box Hill, South Downs, Devils Punchbowl
- Climbing Scaffel Pike - The highest Mountain in England
And finally the big one - KILIMANJARO!!!!!
- The largest free-standing mountain in the world at 5895 metres - a dormant volcano
- Taking the Lemosho route - which will take 6 days to go up and 2 days to come down. We will be camping along the way! (I have never gone camping before eeek!)
- We will reach the Summit (Uhuru Peak) on the morning of the 27th October 2016 in time to watch the sunrise - which will be an amazing, emotional and poignant moment as this will be the anniversary of Cameron's death.
- Encountering 4 climate zones: Rain-forest; Heather & Moorland; Alpine desert and finally Summit climate - Arctic conditions!!
- Hopefully we will see many amazing animals en route!
I am so excited to be doing this - Cameron loved volcanoes, animals, nature and camping! And am sure he's having a good giggle about me even attempting all of this - but he will be super proud when i do!
Watch out for video diaries and tweets so you can follow the journey!
Please support my year of adventures by helping me to raise money for Allergy UK, on behalf of Cameron. A charity which has now become close to our hearts. It is important to make people aware about the seriousness of allergies and how they can affect peoples lives.
Allergy UK is the leading national charity providing advice, information and support for those with allergies and food intolerances. We act as the 'voice' of allergy sufferers, representing those affected by this multi organ disease.
