National Zakat Foundation identifies the needs of the community and works to establish projects that will fill gaps to those who have nowhere to turn in times of desperate need. The shelters are meant to be centres for empowerment where the vulnerable are given hope, the broken rebuilt, and helpless given their dignity once again. 

The National Zakat Foundation is establishing dedicated shelters for homeless Muslim women in various parts of the UK. The inspiration for setting up these shelters emerged from shocking stories about Muslim women sleeping rough on park benches or turning to prostitution to feed their children. 

Through the shelter projects NZF aim to alleviate poverty in problematic areas and provide support services including counselling to help those rebuild their lives in a positive manner.
