Story
Hello.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you may know, my younger brother, Joey, is autistic, and suffers from epilepsy. Until 2011 he attended St Elizabeth's, to obtain the specialist care, support and education he needed.
St Elizabeth's helped Joey develop many life skills, such as the ability to read and write, or learning to eat with a knife and fork. But perhaps more importantly, St. Elizabeth's helped develop his communication skills. One of the worst things about autism, is that Joey may not be able to express his feelings or alert us to his basic needs, making it hard for the family to care for him as he needs. This can be heart breaking. So we owe St Elizabeth's a huge deal of gratitude for helping Joey with his communication.
I hope that raising money by running the London marathon will go a tiny bit of the way toward showing my gratitude. And, if we're honest, I've been a bit lazy and left it up to my older brother Robbie and younger sister Fiona to run the previous marathons for this cause, so it's only fair that I take my turn.
Thank you in advance for any donations made. I cannot wait for this run, and will be thinking of everyone who has donated as great motivation for me to try and beat my brother's ridiculously fast marathon run time!
