Story
Hi all,
Finally we have set up the just giving page for St. James’ hospital Bone Marrow Transplant Service. Last year we travelled to Ireland to donate stem cells for a very important man in our lives, Padraig, to treat his aggressive cancer. The clinic at St. James’ hospital, Dublin, was astounding. The staff provided the upmost support and care, and we are incredibly blessed to have the technology and research to perform such treatments.
Over a year has passed, and thanks to the transplant and the efforts of St. James’ hospital, we are truly blessed to still have Padraig with us. The work performed at the clinic is second to none, and we wish to give something back to help support the fantastic work they do, so more research can be done and more lives saved.
To raise money we decided to climb Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, and to both go on the longest zipwire in Europe over Britain’s largest slate quarry. Despite our fears, we overcame the challenges with Padgraig in mind. We hope to continue our fundraising for the clinic, and will keep our justgiving page updated with any upcoming plans and events.
We have included some links below containing further information, so do have a look.
Many thanks to you all for your prayers, support and help, but most importantly to St. James’ Hospital Transplant Team. Without them, our lives could be very different.
To our Lady of Clonfert, for every blessing and intercession.
All of your donations help, and any support is appreciated. Please, share our page and spread the word of the fantastic team in Dublin.
With every thanks and God bless you all,
Ita, Ian and family.
