A few years ago my mam went to hospital complaining of what she thought was an hernia. Sadly this was not the case and 5 weeks later she passed away with cancer. It was horrific. A horrible time. And only 3 months after my dad had passed.
The last 2 weeks of her life she was taken into St. Leonards Hospice and the care and attention she received simply blew me away. Furthermore, the nurses looked after me as much as my mum. When my mum passed, one nurse asked me "are you the hugging type" and I said "not really". She then said "well I am, so come here!" And proceeded to give me the biggest squeeze ever. It's really what I needed to be honest. I'll never forget that. And it was moments like that why I now want to raise money for this amazing place
The charity provides free care but they rely heavily on local donations and sponsorship. Some of the nurses who looked after my mam were volunteers.
80 of us are doing TOUGH MUDDER on 7th August and we are all using the same 'Just Giving' page
All donations massively appreciated
